We know that the process of selecting and applying to colleges can be stressful on both the student and the parents. We help take the guess work out of the process. We give students the tools and inside knowledge to make them stand them out among the competition while also giving parents the peace of mind that they've done everything possible to ensure their child's success. We're here to help make dreams come true. These days, it's not enough to just have good grades - we help compile the full package, including: College application assistance, essay writing guidance; leverage of internships, volunteering, sports, clubs, student government and more. You shouldn't have to do it alone...
We offer a variety of tutoring options including general studies, AP tutoring, English, Math, History, and beyond. High school is much more than just course work. We help students make more of their high school years to build a resume and portfolio with internships, fun & rewarding volunteer work, athletics, religious groups, and student organizations.
While taking practice tests over and over through an online program can certainly increase scores, it's not for everyone. We take a unique approach in our relaxed environment for students looking to increase SAT or ACT scores. There's no cookie cutter answer, we cater to each student's specific needs and learning style. We give students the tips and training they need. Through a series of mini-tests, given over time, they hone their test taking skills in order to beat the beast!
"Courtney started working with my oldest son in his freshman year at Ransom Everglades, specifically focusing on time management, critical reading, and thesis/technical writing. She continued to be a great asset during the college application process and constantly reassured both my son and myself that things were going according to plan. I received constant update of application status, personal essay writing, and SAT prep work, but the most amazing part was the change I saw in my son. He was focused, engaged and really flourished under her tutoring, and now in his freshman year at Tulane he is still able to email and Skype with Courtney, as well as pop into The Student Union when he is home on breaks, regarding any questions or feedback with his college classes. I’m so glad she was able to make this process as easy as possible.”

“When my middle son decided to apply to 5 preparatory schools across the country, we realized that we only had 2 weeks to finalize applications, write countless essays and short responses, including a personal narrative paper, before the deadline ended. We called Courtney and enrolled in The Student Union’s ‘Critical Crunch Time’ plan, where Courtney spent up to 5 hours per session working 1 on 1 with our son to meet his deadlines. We couldn’t have been prouder or more relieved when he was accepted to every school we applied to. A big hats off to Courtney and the entire Student Union team for making it happen!"
- John Janette
"Courtney worked with my son when he took the SAT for the second time... Together they were able to gain 110 points on the Language Arts section of the test. She not only assisted him with his writing skills but she also taught him how to take the test.
The relationship continued when he was in college. Courtney and my son still Skype and email each other while she helps him through his first college essays.
I don't know how many dozens of friends I have referred her to, but every single person has raved about Courtney. She is strict but also fun and relates well with the kids. Her teaching skills, knowledge and dynamic personality make her an amazing and successful tutor."
- Kelly Anderson
“When it was time to get my son's college applications and resume together we needed some extra help. I reached out to STU and was immediately impressed with their knowledge of how the whole process worked. The team was available to help us at any time that we needed her. Courtney was pivotal in my son receiving an acceptance letter from every college he applied to. I would highly recommend her and her team to anyone I know who needs this expertise and knowledge. They will not only give you peace of mind that your child is 100% prepared on their college application, but it will make sure you're throughout this very challenging process.”
- Kellee Endara
"The Student Union’s talents extend far beyond your typical classroom/study setting. They have a great learning environment with communal learning spaces, private test offices, and access to the latest SAT, ACT and College application materials. Together, through a mutual understanding outlined by Courtney, both The Student Union and my son were able to accomplish what they both set out to do-raise his SAT scores, complete all of his college applications well before the early action deadline, work on his resume for internships at The Student Union as well as the Miami Heat, and write an exceptional college essay. They are also a great resource for academic help, and I saw my son’s grades improve and his anxiety over the college application process go down the more they worked together. I would recommend Courtney on the highest level when it comes to skilled academic learning, college applications and positive results for test taking."
- Andrew Corman
"Courtney is a extremely bright professional who is a delight to deal with. Not only does her positive way of thinking engage her audience, she understands and knows what elements to implement depending on the student’s personality and desires. Speaking for my son Ryan and his experience, Courtney was able to break through and capture his attention in so many critical ways unlike your typical learning environment; she was able implement an approach, not just through teaching, but through encouragement and positive reinforcement. The Student Union gave both my husband and I peace of mind knowing that Ryan was in the best hands."
