PREP TIME: HIGH SCHOOL
We offer a variety of tutoring options including general studies, AP tutoring, English, Math, History, and beyond. High school is much more than just course work. We help students make more of their high school years to build a resume and portfolio with internships, fun & rewarding volunteer work, athletics, religious groups, and student organizations.
AP EXAMS / SAT & ACT TEST PREP
While taking practice tests over and over through an online program can certainly increase scores, it's not for everyone. We take a unique approach in our relaxed environment for students looking to increase SAT or ACT scores. There's no cookie cutter answer, we cater to each student's specific needs and learning style. We give students the tips and training they need. Through a series of mini-tests, given over time, they hone their test taking skills in order to beat the beast!

Courtney has been teaching for over 15 years, specializing in college level writing and rhetoric, technical thesis writing, and literature with a specialization in Renaissance Studies. Courtney's personal dislike of standardized tests led her to a career teaching students how to overcome the pitfalls of the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and ISEE exams, and how to navigate their tricky verbal challenges. Courtney attended Brandeis University where she studied English Literature and the Classics, and went on to receive a Masters in English Literature from Florida International University. She also taught at FIU as an Adjunct Professor for the Writing Program, English Dept, and the school of Science. A lover of Shakespeare, Courtney also is passionate about rescue dogs, reading and anything on Bravo TV.

Alex earned her B.A. from Florida International University and continued to her M.A. in Middle East Studies during her time in Israel at Tel Aviv University. Alex taught high school math as well as SAT/ACT prep to Americans studying abroad. Her work with high school students, both privately and in classroom settings, has allowed her to develop and perfect proven teaching techniques that adapt to each student's needs. Raised in Northern Virginia, Nate earned his Bachelor of Economics degree from Virginia Tech. Nate’s work in the local school system inspired him to return to George Mason University for his Masters of Education degree with a concentration in Special Education. His first five years of teaching consisted of teaching small groups of students classified with learning impediments that prevented them from learning through traditional methods. It was then that Nate realized he has a knack for making difficult math concepts understandable to even the most challenged. Nate is certified to teach all levels of high school math and uses those talents to coach TSU students how to approach standardized tests and prep for the ACT or SAT. Nate’s passion for helping others carries through to his service as with the United States National Guard. Nate loves spending time with his family, swimming, and hitting the gym.

She teaches collaborative communication, business writing, presentation skills, and public speaking at FIU where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication/Marketing (cum laude) and a Master of Science in Mass Communications: Advertising and Public Relations. Elena has also provided tutoring services with specialty in reading comprehension, language arts, writing, study skills, social studies, and psychology.
Elena is passionate about giving back to her community, earning an honorable mention from the Legal Marketing Association Southeastern Chapter (LMASE) Your Honor Awards for creating and managing the firm’s Community Relations/Corporate Responsibility Initiative. This provided an opportunity for staff to engage in philanthropic activities and partner with dozens of local non-profits.

Whether it be in the pool, the beach or diving off the back of his jet boat, Parker's up for any activity, but is just as content to be napping in the background at TSU.
